The purpose of this presentation is to inform nurses, especially APRNs, about the opportunities provided by healthcare reform and the IOM Report on the Future of Nursing, and resources on how to effectively advocate for changes that would increase consumer access to the high quality care provided by APRNs. Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Generally describe the current state of health care reform in the U.S. and the opportunities presented for APRNs.
- Describe the 4 APRN roles and what role they can play in a reformed healthcare system.
- Explain the importance of building coalitions beyond nursing and give an example of such a coalition.
