The goal of this program is to provide PTs with an evidence-based review of the application of ultrasound as a therapeutic modality and explain the implications of use during physical therapy interventions. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to —
- Discuss the application of ultrasound and propose a use of the modality for successful musculoskeletal injury intervention.
- Describe ultrasound parameters specific to the treatment goal of increasing tissue temperature.
- Provide a review of the current literature regarding the effectiveness of ultrasound application on musculoskeletal injuries.
