Objectives:
The goal of this self learning module is to provide nurses with information about endocrine anatomy & physiology, assessment, diagnostic studies, interventions and care of patients with endocrine alterations. Upon completion of this exercise the user will be able to:
  • Describe the physiologic basis of endocrine alterations
  • Identify signs and symptoms related to endocrine disorders
  • State five common diagnostic tests for endocrine conditions
  • Explain the pharmacologic treatments for endocrine disorders
  • Describe nursing implications for endocrine disorders
