Objectives:
The goal of this continuing education program is to provide nurses, audiologists, dietitians/nutritionists, occupational therapists, physicians, and speech language pathologists with information on the medical (physical and psychological) needs of military veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to:
  • Describe unique health conditions of returning veterans
  • Identify resources available to returning veterans to help them manage their healthcare needs for military-related medical conditions
  • Discuss the role of healthcare professionals in caring for returning veterans in the community
