Objectives:
The goal of this presentation is to introduce attendees to early intervention, define autism spectrum disorders (ASD), and provide guidelines for early identification of ASD and differential diagnosis from other early developmental disorders. Upon completion, participants will be able to:
  • State the eligibility criteria for early intervention ((EI) and describe how EI services are delivered.
  • State the diagnostic criteria for autism spectrum disorders and list behaviors indicative of the diagnosis.
  • List behavioral differences between ASD and other developmental disorders that allow for differential diagnosis.
