Objectives:

The purpose of this presentation is to educate nurses about prevention and management of chronic illnesses that are expected to affect a large number of baby boomers as this generation continues to age. Upon completion, participants will be able to:
  • Identify ways in which baby boomers are unique when compared to other generations
  • Discuss the effects an aging baby boomer population will have on healthcare
  • List the chronic diseases that will become most common among baby boomers
  • Discuss nursing care solutions for the chronic diseases that baby boomers will most commonly experience
