The goal of this presentation is to increase the understanding of the complex nature of ethical dilemmas at the end-of-life and the responsibilities and limits of your advocacy for the patient’s wishes. Upon completion, participants will be able to:
  • Identify the extent and limits of your ethical duty as an advocate for your patient at end-of-life
  • List specific ways to improve your advocacy efforts by using resources
  • Discuss what can interfere with your ethical obligation as an advocate and accept these limitations
