The purpose of this presentation is to educate healthcare providers about the role certified nurse-midwives play in the healthcare system in providing quality healthcare to women and their families, the challenges they face in working to their maximum capacity, and possible solutions to overcoming these barriers. Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
  • Describe certified nurse-midwife’s scope of practice in the United States
  • Discuss the evidence supporting the use of midwives in the healthcare system
  • Identify major barriers and possible solutions to practicing midwifery to the full extent of training
