The purpose of this presentation is to identify the relevance of Florence Nightingale as a visionary who has relevance for the development of nursing in the 21st century. Upon completion of this webinar, attendees will be able to:
  • Describe major life influences on Florence Nightingale including cultural context, education and religious development.
  • Describe the major accomplishments of Florence Nightingale including the establishment of the philosophical foundations of modern nursing, the development and use of statistical data to define nursing's goals and nursing as influential in the development of government policy.
  • Identify the relevance of Nightingale as a visionary for 21st century nursing.
