Objectives:
The goal of this program is to inform nurses, advanced practice nurses, physicians, and dietitians about development of community-based Clostridium difficile. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to:
  • Discuss the changing epidemiology of C. difficile
  • Describe how C. difficile is transmitted in the community
  • Assess the major and minor risk factors for community-associated C. difficile infection
