Objectives:
The goal of this interprofessional continuing education activity for occupational therapists, dietitians, nurses, health educators, pharmacists, and speech-language pathologists is to describe the emerging concept of IP continuing education and its role in improving outcomes for patients. At the completion of this module you will be able to:
  • Describe the benefits of IP team approaches for patients and professional care providers
  • Explain the role of IP continuing education in facilitating care providers’ development of fully IP clinical practice
  • Describe IP continuing education opportunities in regard to their instructional methods and structure
