The goal of this program is to provide nurses with information about necrotizing fasciitis and the pathogens associated with the disease. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to:

  • Explain the four types of necrotizing fasciitis and the risk factors and organisms associated with each
  • Discuss the diagnosis and treatment for necrotizing fasciitis and explain why antibiotics, by themselves, don’t work
