The purpose of this program is to inform nurses about the Nurses’ Bill of Rights as developed by the American Nurses Association, how those rights may be reflected in position statements, how they may affect professional practice, and how they affect hospitals seeking American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Magnet Recognition Program designation. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to:

  • Explain how the rights may be used to influence professional practice
  • Describe how the rights link to ANCC Magnet hospital status
