Objectives:
 
The goal of this program is to empower nurses, dietitians, dietary managers, school nutritionists, fitness professionals, health educators, occupational therapists, physical therapists, physicians and radiologic technologists to help themselves or help patients evaluate dietary recommendations and make lifestyle changes to better manage their weight. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to:
  • Describe the prevalence and effects of overweight and obesity in the U.S.
  • Discuss how diet and exercise contribute to weight management
  • List four traits shared by those who have maintained weight loss
