Objectives:
The purpose of this program is to inform nurses, EMTs/paramedics, physical therapists and physicians about the features of and the medical treatments and interventions for stress cardiomyopathy (broken heart syndrome). After studying the information presented here, you will be able to:
  • Identify signs and symptoms of stress cardiomyopathy
  • Distinguish stress cardiomyopathy from an acute myocardial infarction
  • Describe three implications in the treatment of people with stress cardiomyopathy
