The goal of this program is to provide a summary of the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute’s Expert Panel Report-3: Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Asthma, focusing on adults. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to:
  • List at least three common symptoms of asthma
  • Describe the asthma severity and control classifications
  • Differentiate between long-term controller and quick-relief asthma medications and describe at least one potential adverse effect for each medication in each class
