Objectives:
The goal of this program is to provide nurses and physicians with an update of The Joint Commission’s core measures relating to the care of a patient hospitalized with acute myocardial infarction. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to:
  • Cite signs, symptoms and risk factors of AMI and diagnostic tests used to confirm diagnosis
  • List The Joint Commission’s core measures as they relate to the time of arrival and discharge of AMI patients
  • Discuss the rationale and healthcare implications of each of The Joint Commission core measures
 

 
Nov. 12, 2013: The American College of Cardiology (ACC) and the American Heart Association (AHA) released new clinical practice guidelines for the treatment of blood cholesterol in people at high risk for cardiovascular diseases caused by atherosclerosis.
