The goal of this program is to provide nurses with an update of The Joint Commission’s core measures relating to the care of a patient hospitalized with acute myocardial infarction. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to:
  • Cite signs, symptoms, and risk factors of AMI and diagnostic tests used to confirm diagnosis
  • List The Joint Commission’s core measures as they relate to the time of arrival and discharge of AMI patients
  • Discuss the rationale and healthcare implications of each of The Joint Commission core measures
