The goal of this program is to educate nurses, dietitians, dietary managers, EMTs and paramedics, fitness professionals, health educators and occupational therapists about post-polio syndrome, its symptoms and associated health problems and ways to help PPS patients manage symptoms and prevent complications. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to:
  • Describe how PPS is thought to develop.
  • List six health-related problems that patients with PPS experience.
  • Identify ways in which we can help patients with PPS manage symptoms and prevent complications.
