The goal of this continuing education module is to update nurses, EMTs and paramedics, physical therapists, dietitians and radiologic technologists on recent developments in the treatment of patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). After studying the information presented here, you will be able to:

  • Cite three nervous system functions that remain unaffected in ALS
  • List four important functions of the healthcare professional team in the care of patients with ALS
