Objectives:
The goal of this continuing education program is to update nurses’, EMTs’ and paramedics’, pharmacists’, respiratory therapists’ and physicians’ knowledge of the clinical manifestations, assessment, transmission and nursing care of the child with bronchiolitis. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to:
  • Describe the clinical manifestations of RSV bronchiolitis in infants and children
  • Discuss the transmission, pathophysiology and diagnosis of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) bronchiolitis
  • Explain the nursing care, including family teaching, for the patient with RSV bronchiolitis
