The goal of this program is to enhance nurses’ abilities to care for patients who have antibiotic-resistant infections. After you study the information presented here, you will be able to —

  • Differentiate between colonization and infection.
  • Distinguish between appropriate and inappropriate use of antibiotics.
  • Identify seven measures to prevent and contain the spread of antibiotic-resistant microorganisms.
