Objectives:
The goal of this obesity and the school age child continuing education program is to update nurses’ and nurse practitioners’ knowledge of basic nutrition and fitness for the well child. After studying the information presented in this learning module, you will be able to:
  • Discuss the problem of overweight and obese children and teens in the U.S.
  • Discuss the possible negative health consequences of obesity in children
  • Offer practical solutions to parents of overweight and obese school-age children
