Objectives:
The goal of this continuing education program is to provide dietitians with adequate information on appropriate weight gain and safety of various foods and supplements during pregnancy. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to:
  • Identify adequate or inadequate weight gain during pregnancy
  • Explain some of the strategies that can be used to prevent foodborne illness during pregnancy
  • Discuss the safety of various foods, components of foods, herbs and supplements during pregnancy
