Objectives:
The goal of this continuing education program is to familiarize dietitians with the current regulation of pesticide use in organic and conventional farming and how these levels affect children. After studying the material presented here, you will be able to:
  • Illustrate the process for evaluating and regulating the safety of chemicals in the U.S.
  • Evaluate several reasons children are at greater risk of harm from pesticide exposure than adults are
  • Provide dietary and budgetary guidance to clients regarding the purchase of organic produce and foods
