Objectives:
The goal of this stroke continuing education module is to help nurses and physical therapists differentiate between identification, treatment and care of patients with left- and right-hemispheric strokes. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to:
  • List modifiable and nonmodifiable risk factors of stroke
  • Identify neurological deficits associated with left- and right-sided strokes
  • List appropriate goals of rehabilitation for a patient who has had a stroke
