The goal of this continuing education program is to provide information on the basics of safe, effective pain management. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to:
  • Discuss the effects of untreated and undertreated pain on the patient’s physical, cognitive, emotional, social and spiritual health
  • Discuss barriers to effective pain management and strategies to address them
  • Describe the principles of safe, effective, evidence-based pain management
