CE OVERVIEW REVIEWS     
Objectives:
The goal of this continuing education program is to update nurses’, EMTs’ and paramedics’ and physicians’ knowledge of how to recognize, assess and treat children experiencing pain. Upon completion of this program, healthcare professionals will be able to:
  • Discuss how a child’s developmental stage affects his or her perception, understanding and response to pain
  • Investigate the key elements of a comprehensive pain assessment in children
  • Outline the pharmacological and nonpharmacological interventions that can be used to prevent or relieve pain in children
