The goal of this women’s health CE anthology is to inform nurses about a diverse range of health issues of special concern for women so that they may be better prepared to care for this patient population. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to:
  • Discuss three autoimmune diseases that have a higher incidence in women than in men
  • Identify three chronic conditions found in women and possible therapeutic interventions
  • Discuss two perinatal conditions, including the risk factors, signs and symptoms, and treatment options
  • Discuss two perimenopausal symptoms and treatment options
  • List the symptoms for two women’s cancers
  • Identify two conditions discussed in this anthology that you may encounter in your practice and their nursing implications
  • Describe two preventive measures women can take to improve their long-term health
