Objectives:
A new version of this course is now available, 60190, "The Women's Health CE Anthology, 2014 Edition." This version will be discontinued on February 28, 2014. Please plan to complete the test before the end of February 27, 3014, if you wish to earn contact hours for it.
 
The goal of this women’s health CE anthology is to inform nurses about a diverse range of women’s health issues so that they may be better prepared to care for this patient population. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to:
  • Discuss three autoimmnune diseases that have a higher incidence in women than in men
  • Identify three chronic conditions found in women and possible therapeutic interventions
  • Discuss two obstetrical conditions, including the risk factors, signs and symptoms, and treatment options
  • Discuss premenopausal, menopausal and postmenopausal symptoms and treatment options
  • List the symptoms for two women’s cancers
  • Identify two conditions discussed in this anthology that you may encounter in your practice and their nursing implications
  • Describe two preventive measures women can take to improve their long-term health
