The goal of this continuing education program is to educate nurses, paramedics, EMTs, physicians and social workers about identifying and caring for victims of rape and sexual assault. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to:
- Discuss three aspects of the experience of sexual assault
- Discuss the caregiver’s role in identifying and referring victims of sexual assault
- Describe the role of the nurse or other healthcare professional in evidence collection post–sexual assault
