Objectives:
The goal of this continuing education program is to update nurses' knowledge about identification, etiologies, treatment, and nursing interventions for seizures, and the patients who have them. After you study the information presented here, you will be able to —
  • Identify causes of seizure disorders.
  • List current methods of treatment, including medications, surgical interventions, and diet.
  • Describe appropriate nursing interventions for the acute management of seizures.
