Objectives:
The goal of this Latinos and cancer CE program is to discuss disparities in cancer incidence and survival among Latinos and Latino subgroups and to provide culturally based interventions with the potential to improve cancer screening and prevention in Latino populations. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to:
  • Name three factors contributing to cancer disparities among Latino populations
  • Describe two aspects of Latino culture and community that may affect cancer screening and care
  • Explain two culturally effective interventions to enhance cancer prevention and screening
