The goal of this program is to inform nurses about The Joint Commission’s 2011 national patient safety goals that apply to hospitals. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to —
  • Identify the goals and elements of performance (requirements) continued from 2010 to 2011.
  • Explain the new goals and requirements for 2011.
  • Describe the intent of the patient safety goals.
