Objectives:
The goal of this program is to provide nurses with information about H1N1 (swine) flu pandemics. This program will discuss the vaccinations to prevent H1N1 and the antivirals to treat it. It will also discuss how we can prepare ourselves, our communities and our families for the next pandemic. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to —
 
  • Discuss the national and global scope of a pandemic.
  • List the differing priorities for the seasonal and H1N1 vaccinations.
  • Describe the oral and intravenous antiviral medications for H1N1.
