Objectives:
The goal of this continuing education module is to enhance nurses’ knowledge of nurse practice acts and how they define professional practice and nurses’ rights and responsibilities as practitioners. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to:
  • List four provisions included in most nurse practice acts
  • Identify the types of violations included and the rights afforded the nurse licensee in most nurse practice acts
  • Analyze how current issues of state nurse practice acts affect the nurse licensee
