The goal of this program is to provide nurses with information about kidney disease and kidney transplantation to improve outcomes for patients at increased risk for kidney transplantation. After you study the information presented here, you will be able to —
  • List four causes of chronic kidney disease and kidney failure.
  • Discuss the management of the progression of chronic kidney disease through the five stages.
  • Identify three possible donor options for kidney transplantation.
