The goal of this module is to inform nurses about compulsive hoarding and its treatments and to offer options for nursing responses. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to —
  • Identify defining behaviors and characteristics of compulsive hoarding.
  •  Discuss compulsive hoarding as its own symptom cluster or as a part of other diagnoses.
  • Describe three nursing interventions in the treatment of people who compulsively hoard.
