The goal of this Internet safety continuing education program is to provide nurses who work with children, adolescents, and their families in the school, community, pediatric, and psychiatric settings, information about safety on the Internet. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to:
  • Identify at least three Internet safety guidelines for parents and children.
  • Describe the nurse’s role in identifying children at risk for exploitation while online.
  • List at least three online resources that can provide assistance for parents and children.
