Objectives:
The goal of this program is to update healthcare professionals' knowledge of basic nutrition and solid food introduction for the well child. After studying the information presented in this learning module, you will be able to:
  • List the developmental cues that signal readiness to start solid foods
  • Discuss key nutrients in the diets of very young children
  • Offer reasonable advice to parents who are concerned about starting to feed solid foods to their infants
