Objectives:
The goal of this continuing education module is to help nurses and advanced practice nurses identify patients at risk for long-term health problems related to polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). After studying the information presented here, you will be able to:
  • Describe the clinical signs and symptoms of PCOS
  • Discuss the medical and nursing management of PCOS
  • Discuss the nurse’s role in teaching the patient about long-term health effects of PCOS and the APN’s role in preventing and managing its long-term effects
