CE OVERVIEW REVIEWS     
Objectives:
The goal of this program is to familiarize nurses with bioterrorism and its implications for nursing care. Part 1 focuses on the history of bioterrorism, the nurse’s role in recognizing symptoms produced by common bioterrorism agents, and information about anthrax and plague. Part 2 focuses on the RN’s role in emergency preparedness and response and keys to recognizing and responding to botulism and smallpox. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to:
  • Discuss the history of bioterrorism
  • Recognize the symptoms of most likely biological agents
  • Describe the signs, symptoms, and management of anthrax and plague
