Objectives:
The goal of this prostate cancer continuing education program is to increase nurses’ knowledge about screening methods, treatment options and controversies associated with prostate cancer. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to —
  • List recommended early-detection measures for prostate cancer.
  • Describe treatment options available to patients diagnosed with prostate cancer.
  • Discuss the two most common adverse effects encountered by men with prostate cancer after surgery and/or radiation therapy.
