This is a list of our current accreditations. We make every effort to keep this list as accurate and detailed as possible as they change or become updated. Please check with your licensing or accrediting organization if you have any questions about specific accreditation in your local area for your profession.

Nurses

Gannett Education is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

Gannett Education has been honored by the American Nurses Credentialing Center with Premier Status and is the only for-profit entity to ever receive the Accreditation Premier Program Award. The ANCC stated: "The most obvious example of Nursing Spectrum CE's status as a model of learning excellence comes from the more than 250 healthcare organizations and systems that have contracted for access to Nursing Spectrum CE's educational activities for their nurses through CE Direct. Some organizations have been in this relationship for seven years or more, and the program has a 95% renewal rate."

Gannett Education was also cited by ANCC for having quality courses and strong leadership.

Gannett Education is also accredited by the Florida Board of Nursing (provider # FBN 50-1489) and the California Board of Registered Nursing (provider # CEP 13213).

Gannett Education's continuing education (CE) contact hours are generally accepted by most professional nursing organizations and state boards of nursing. Gannett Education has made substantial efforts to obtain appropriate providerships for CE offerings. However, Gannett Education does not warrant that all professional organizations or licensing authorities will accept its CE contact hours. If in doubt, nurses are advised to contact their professional organizations or licensing authorities to confirm their acceptance of these contact hours.

Audiologists

The CE courses listed under the Audiologists category are intended for audiologists.

 

Dietitians

The CE courses listed under the Dietitians category are intended for RDs and DTRs.

Gannett Education is a Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Accredited Provider (#GD001) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).

Gannett Education is also accredited by the Florida Council of Dietetics and Nutrition (provider # FBN 50-1489).

EMT/Paramedics

The CE courses listed under the EMT/Paramedics category are intended for EMTs and paramedics.

Gannett Education is an organization accredited by the Continuing Education Coordinating Board for Emergency Medical Services (CECBEMS).

Gannett Education is also accredited by the Florida Bureau of Emergency Medical Services (provider # FBN 50-1489). Because the Florida Bureau of EMS  approves each course separately, please see each course for details of the approval.

Fitness Professionals

The CE courses listed under the Fitness Professionals category are intended for various fitness professionals.

Gannett Education is recognized by the American Council on Exercise as a Continuing Education Specialist (provider #250164). Specified Gannett Education courses have been approved by the American Council on Exercise.

Gannett Education is recognized by the Board of Certification, Inc. to offer continuing education for Certified Athletic Trainers (provider #P1000). Specified Gannett Education courses have been approved by the Board of Certification.

Gannett Education is recognized by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Certification Committee as an approved provider of continuing education (provider #A1074). Specified Gannett Education courses have been approved by the NSCA Certification Committee.

The American College of Sports Medicine's Professional Education Committee certifies that Nutrition Dimension meets the criteria for official ACSM Approved Provider status from 2010 to 2013 (provider #681205). Specified Nutrition Dimension courses have been approved by the ACSM Professional Education Committee. ACSM approved providership of these programs does not imply endorsement of the sponsoring organization's products/services.

Health Educators

The CE courses listed under the Health Educators category are intended for Certified Health Education Specialists.

Gannett Education is a designated multiple event provider of continuing education clock hours (CECH) by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing Inc., provider #CA0084, approval period January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2015.

Exams received or completed online by December 31st, March 31st, June 30th, and September 30th are reported to NCHEC by the 15th of the following month. All CHES approved Gannett Education courses are Category I.

Laboratory Techs

The CE courses listed under the Laboratory Techs category are intended for Clinical Laboratory Scientists/Medical Technologists (CLS/MT) and Clinical Laboratory Technicians/Medical Laboratory Technicians (CLT/MLT).

Gannett Education is approved as a provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences by the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS) Professional Acknowledgment for Continuing Education (P.A.C.E.®) Program (provider #249).

Gannett Education is also accredited by the Florida Board of Clinical Laboratory Personnel (provider # FBN 50-1489).

Massage Therapists

The CE courses listed under the Massage Therapists category are intended for massage therapists.

Gannett Education is approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing education Approved Provider.

Occupational Therapists

The CE courses listed under the Occupational Therapists category are intended for OTs and OTAs.

Gannett Education is an approved provider of continuing education for occupational therapists by the American Occupational Therapy Association. The assignment of AOTA CEUs does not imply endorsement of specific course content, products, or clinical procedures by AOTA.

Gannett Education is also accredited by the Florida Board of Occupational Therapy (provider # FBN 50-1489).

Continuing education approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association is accepted for relicensure by the state boards for occupational therapists in:

Pharmacists

The CE courses listed under the Pharmacists category are intended for pharmacists.

Gannett Education is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.

Physical Therapists

The CE courses listed under the Physical Therapists category are intended for PTs and PTAs.

Gannett Healthcare Group is an approved sponsor by the New York State Education Department of continuing education for physical therapists and physical therapist assistants from October 21, 2009 to October 20, 2015.

PT courses are provided by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners Accredited Provider #GED012010TPTA2012004 for 1/1/2010 to 1/31/2013 and #1601004 for 02/01/13 to 01/31/16 and meet continuing competence requirements for physical therapist and physical therapist assistant licensure renewal in Texas. The assignment of Texas PT CCUs does not imply endorsement of specific course content, products, or clinical procedures by TPTA or TBPTE.

As of 4/5/10, Gannett Education is recognized by the Physical Therapy Board of California as an approved reviewer and provider of continuing competency courses for the state of California.

Gannett Education was approved as a provider of continuing education by the North Carolina Physical Therapy Association (provider no. 09-0215-001PR) from March 8, 2009 through March 8, 2010.

Courses provided by Gannett Education are generally approved to meet the continuing education requirements for PTs and PTAs by the state physical therapy association or board of examiners for Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Nevada, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee and by reciprocity in Alaska, Arizona, Delaware, Georgia, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Oregon, Rhode Island and South Carolina.

Because each course is approved separately and each group has different rules about the length of the approval and other details, please see each course for details of the approvals that apply to that course at any given time. Other states may accept these courses for meeting their CE requirements.

Physicians

The CE courses listed under the Physicians category are intended for physicians.

Specified courses have been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of the University of Louisville and Gannett Education. The University of Louisville is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing education for physicians.

Radiology Techs

The CE courses listed under the Radiology Techs category are intended for Radiology Technologists and Radiology Practical Technicians.

These activities are approved for credit by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT).

Because each course is approved separately, please see each course for details of the approvals that apply to that course at any given time.

Respiratory Therapists

The CE courses listed under the Respiratory Therapist category are approved for RTs.

The activities are approved for Continuing Respiratory Care Education (CRCE) credit by the American Association for Respiratory Care, 9425 N. MacArthur Blvd., Suite 100, Irving, TX 75063. AARC Sponsor ID: 9514012.

Gannett Education is also accredited by the Florida Board of Respiratory Care (provider # FBN 50-1489).

Social Workers

The CE courses listed under the Social Workers category are intended for social workers.

Gannett Education, provider # 1203, is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) www.aswb.org, through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Social workers should contact their regulatory board to determine if their board participates in the ASWB or to determine course approval. Gannett Education maintains responsibility for the program. Approval Period: February 15, 2010 to February 15, 2014.

Speech Language Pathologists

The CE courses listed under the Speech Language Pathologists category are intended SLPs.

 

Surgical Techs

The CE courses listed under the Surgical Techs category are intended for certified surgical technologists and certified surgical first assistants.

These continuing education activities have been approved for CE credits by the Association of Surgical Technologists, Inc., for continuing education for the Certified Surgical Technologist and Certified Surgical First Assistant. This recognition does not imply that AST approves or endorses any product or products that are discussed or mentioned in enduring material.

Specific Courses for Multiple Disciplines

60010 "NY Mandated Infection Control for Healthcare Professionals" is approved by the New York State Education Department to satisfy the requirement for professional licensure for registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, dentists, podiatrists, optometrists, dental hygienists, physicians, and physician assistants/special assistants (provider # IC 125).

60012 "Identifying & Reporting Child Abuse & Maltreatment in NY" is approved by the New York State Education Department to satisfy the requirement for professional licensure for registered nurses, physicians (including psychiatrists), dentists, podiatrists, optometrists, dental hygienists, chiropractors, psychologists, teachers, pupil personnel services professionals, school administrators and supervisors, and school district administrators, licensed clinical social workers and licensed master social workers, mental health counselors, marriage and family therapists, creative arts therapists, and psychoanalysts (provider # 10580).

60019 "Kentucky HIV/AIDS Requirement for Healthcare Professionals" is approved by the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services to satisfy the requirement for professional licensure for any of the professional groups impacted by KRS 214.610/615 (CHFS approval # 0313-1511-M).
