Objectives:

The goal of this program is to update nurses’ knowledge of the identification, care, and management of patients with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy. After you study the information presented here, you will be able to —
  • Identify disease pathology and the patients at risk for hypertension during pregnancy.
  • List the signs and symptoms of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy and the associated complications.
  • Explain the home and hospital care of patients with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.
