CE OVERVIEW REVIEWS     
Objectives:

Discusses the benefits of breastfeeding for infant, children, mothers, families, and society. Describes techniques for supporting the breastfeeding dyad in the preconception, antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods. Addresses special conditions, including hyperbilirubinemia, hydration, weight gain, insufficient milk supply, engorgement, and fatigue. Provides information on maternal nutrition, maternal and infant separation, and breastfeeding support technology.


Approval Information

This course was developed by the March of Dimes, which will provide the contact hours and process the continuing education tests. The March of Dimes is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the New York State Nurses Association, an accredited approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. It has been assigned code 6R2GNS-PRV-06.

March of Dimes Foundation offer courses on a broad range of topics designed to help perinatal nurses integrate scientific and clinical advances into the care of mothers and babies. Nursing modules are written for nurses, by nurses, and are a cost-effective way for nurses and certified nurse-midwives (CNMs) to earn continuing education credit.
